Bio:

When American Trust Escrow first opened its doors more than 10 years ago, Nan Sandford was there to greet clients with a smile and a helping hand. Today, she continues that tradition, but it wasn’t escrow that first started her career in real estate.

Graduating from the New England School of Design, Nan moved to San Diego where she found work as an architectural designer.  She later married, moved to Pasadena and ventured into new territory – as a bank secretary to the escrow department.

“I loved it immediately,” she recalled. “I’m a problem-solver by nature and escrow is black and white  — no grey areas.  I took classes to learn everything I could.” Nan went on to work at that same bank as an escrow officer, started a new branch for another escrow firm then took time off to raise her children.  Coming back to the workforce, she wanted to find the right fit.

“American Trust Escrow is a tremendous company with forward-thinking management who provides a supportive, professional environment,” she commented.  Nan handles a variety of escrow transactions including short sales, 1031 tax exchanges, residential and commercial.  She is a notary public and a member of the Los Angeles Conservancy, a non-profit organization created to preserve and revitalize historical structures and landmarks.

When she’s not solving escrow issues or saving buildings, Nan is planting.  Iris bulbs from her native New England line her street for all to see, and enjoy.
